The increasing shift in the overseas sources of migrants from European to Asia-Pacific countries in its region brings with it many cultural, economic and geopolitical advantages and disadvantages for Australia. Migration has been an important influence on Australian society and the economy. Most of the increase in income is captured by the migrants themselves. This was evident when it was studied that 50% of new immigration is skilled immigration which effects Australia’s economy.
